Clean ups

Seasonal Clean Ups

spring clean up

Typically performed in both the spring and fall, our seasonal cleanups include removing all leaves, sticks, and any other organic material that could potentially cause your lawn to decompose if left atop.

All of this material is then either relocated to a compost pile or woods area on your property, or can be hauled away and disposed of off site.

Lawn De-Thatching

lawn dethatch

Thatch is a layer of yellowish brown organic matter that accumulates at the base of your lawn and becomes interwoven between your grass blades.

Once this layer becomes too thick it can basically suffocate your lawn by not allowing nutrients to reach the roots of the grass.

De-Thatching is the process of essentially power raking your lawn with hard tines to break up this material. With a short lawn cut prior to ensure close contact with the tines, thatch is then cleaned up and removed from your lawn.

We recommend having your lawn de-thatched once per year usually paired with a spring clean up

Lawn Aeration

An aeration is the process of plugging holes into your lawn to relieve compaction and allow air, water, and nutrients to reach the roots of your lawn.

If you take a screw driver and can not easily drive it into the soil of your lawn, odds are you could use an aeration.

Golf courses for example perform this about 8 times per year from all the foot traffic and compaction they experience on the soil of their grass.

We recommend having your lawn aerated at least once per year paired with an over seeding and starter fertilizer application

Lawn Over-Seeding

The best defense to weeds infiltrating your lawn is to have a thick barrier of grass that is already occupying the space in your soil.

Over-Seeding is the process of applying large quantities of grass seed to thicken up your existing lawn or to start a new lawn.

We recommend having your lawn over-seeded once per year alongside an application of starter fertilizer to ensure the seeds have a rich supply of nitrogen during their developmental process and pairing this service with a aeration, de-thatching, or lawn renovation.

Mulching

Mulching is the process of applying usually 3 inches of bark mulch to your garden beds and is available in a variety of colors.

Mulching helps inhibit weed growth, keeps your plants moist, and adds a beautiful rich color as if you just painted your garden beds.

We recommend having your garden beds mulched once per year and paired with our Garden Bed Edging.

Garden Bed Natural Edging

Garden Bed Natural Edging is the process of vertically cutting/digging into your lawn to expose 3-4 inches of visible soil on its side and define where the delineation point is between your lawn and your garden beds.

Not only does this give your garden beds a bolder look, it also helps deter your grass from growing into your garden beds.

We recommend having your garden beds edged once per year and paired with mulching.

We also offer maintaining your garden beds edges as an add on to our Weekly Lawn Mowing Service.
